Impressions of the participants
Marilena: With my participation in this program I have gained a lot of experiences. Three other people from Cyprus and me were travelled to Portugal and specifically to Paredes to participate in the Lase Erasmus + program. My feelings were mixed: excitement that I would meet new people, new cultures but also anxiety to cope and represent the organisation that chose me for this participation. In general, my experience is considered as a one time life experience: I realised that the way of life in other countries is different to the one I have in Cyprus, with different social problems and different culture. That helped me to change my way of thinking in many aspects.I gained a lot of knowledge that I can apply in my own environment, my communication skills strengthened and I was able to pass on our own ideas to other participants from different countries. In conclusion, I unreservedly recommend this experience to everyone, students, young people and even for older ones. I am 34 and I learned a lot. There is no right age to learn, we can be learners in all of our lives, as long as we want to. The experiences and knowledge I gained are invaluable.
Pavlos: Participating in the "Launching a Social Enterprise" Professional Development Activity in Paredes has been an incredibly enlightening journey. Engaging in workshops, discussions, and practical activities surrounding social entrepreneurship has broadened my perspective on how business can drive positive societal change. Interacting with international peers and collaborating on ideas has strengthened my cross-cultural communication skills and expanded my network. I'm excited to bring back the knowledge and insights gained during this project to my local community, and I am determined to contribute to the growth of social enterprises that can make a lasting impact.
Panayiotis Antoniou: I went to Porto to get informal training on how to launch a social enterprise. Informal training on social entrepreneurship was a valuable way to learn about the theory and practice of social enterprise. It was offered through workshops with lots of interaction with peers. We focused on practical skills, such as how to develop a business plan, how to raise capital, and how to market a social enterprise. It was tailored to the specific needs of the team and it was hands-on, providing learners with the opportunity to apply what they are learning to real-world projects. Also we went on a trip to the local municipality and learned about the work that they are doing in supporting the local community. We also got a taste of golf and the local gold centre. Generally, this trip to Port was an amazing experience that I will never forget. All thanks to Acpelia and Erasmus+.
Antigoni Panagiotou: Thanks to Acpelia and Erasmus +, I was able to participate in the "Launching a Social Enterprise" professional development activity in Paredes. An amazing experience since it included everything, educational knowledge and socialisation. The programme helped me to improve my knowledge and open my mind to new aspects such as how to develop a social business plan step by step, learn the habits of successful people and how it can affect our lives, and many other interesting things. Cyprus, Greece, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Latvia, North Macedonia, Portugal , Spain and Hungary were the countries who participated in that project. There were too many cultures, too many different people, too many different mindsets and we were able to interact with each other and learn a lot from each other. I am glad that I was able to participate in such an amazing program and learn so much! A big Thank you to all the organisations and the trainers who did their best for us.
